My Studio Designs 13257 creative table and stool set

I've owned my Studio Designs 13257 creative table and stool set since 2012. During the following years, I've used it mostly as an art and painting table. Based on those experiences, I think this is my favorite inexpensive drafting table that I've ever owned.
I slide the table's long feet under the couch. Then, I can paint or use my laptop while I'm relaxing on my comfortable couch.
4 reasons why I love my inexpensive drafting table
While 'love' might be too strong a word to describe my affection for my inexpensive drafting table, I do appreciate all the benefits it gives me. In fact, when I compare the price I paid with the benefits I received, I think 'love' is an appropriate word.
So, here are the 4 reasons I love my inexpensive drafting table, otherwise known as the Studio Designs 13257 creative table and stool set.
1. Attractive piece of furniture to display art
Even when I'm not painting, drawing, or working on this drafting table, it looks good as a piece of furniture. In fact, when I'm not using it, I usually place it in a corner and display a recent painting on its table.
The warm tones from the stained walnut add an inviting, mellow ambience to the room, and accentuate my quirky, whimsical paintings. When neighbors visit, they always comment on the special charm my drafting table adds.
One neighbor loved it so much, they bought one to display art in their own home. Their drafting table complements the warm tones of their Saltillo tile.
When I'm not painting, I use my creative table to display my artwork.
2. Versatile flat surface for arts, crafts, hobbies
Most often, I use my Studio Designs creative table to paint. I put my canvas, which comes pre-stretched over a light wooden backing frame, onto the table top.
The handy pencil ledge on the bottom of the table keeps my canvas from sliding off, even when I have it on an angle. Usually, I stand while I paint, and I hover over the canvas with my table set on a 15-to-20 degree incline.
In addition to painting and drawing, this creative table is perfect for any art, craft, sewing, or creative projects you enjoy. For instance, your children could use this table to build models, create school projects, or do their homework.
3. Laptop stand, sewing stand, crafts table
Feet slide under the couch
At night, I've used my creative table while watching TV. I can easily slide the long table feet underneath my couch (see featured image above) so I can be productive while I watch my favorite show.
Even better, I can use the tabletop as a laptop holder. During commercials, I can conduct online research so I don't waste a moment of my precious time.
I'm sure you like to do the same thing while you watch your favorite show. Best of all, you can do all that while sitting comfortably on your couch.
Sewing or crafts table
In addition to being a sturdy laptop stand, this creative table gives you a wide space to sew, knit, or do other crafts. While I've never tried to sew or knit, I do draw and paint. In fact, I have dried-on paint ont he table's surface from those times when I really was painting with enthusiasm.
No matter project you're working on and no matter where you are sitting, you can slide the table's feet under your couch or large chair.
One caveat, though, is that the table isn't very high. For instance, it's almost impossible for me to sit on the stool while the table is on an angle. That's why I like to mostly stand while I paint, or I sit on the couch.
However, when I'm on my couch, I'm very comfortable working on the table, even when it's on a slight angle. In fact, the angle makes it easier for me to type on my laptop, and the pencil ledge keeps my stuff from slip-sliding away.
4. Quality art table for an inexpensive price
For the price, this combination creative table, laptop holder, knitting workspace, and crafting area is a bargain. Even when I'm not using my table to paint or work on my laptop, it looks like a gorgeous piece of furniture.
The solid walnut wood furniture has a warm hue that makes any working or living space inviting.
The wood surface does have a slight texture, so if you want to draw on a single piece of paper or thin canvas, you'll need to add a harder surface underneath. When I draw, I just put a larger pad of drawing paper underneath.
